The Ministry of Transport has decided to operate Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) buses without conductors on all expressways from 01 July. Tickets for passengers will be issued prior to departure.

This decision has been taken following a complaint that fake tickets were issued to 34 passengers in an SLTB bus on the Southern Expressway recently.

The CID has been called in to conduct an inquiry.In addition to this measure, the Ministry of Transport is actively working towards introducing e-tickets for all buses and trains within the next three months.
